Cross Channel Carping

THE STORY SO FAR

Sorry it's been a while but we have had BIG problems with the site and we are still unnable to load this seasons pictures, but our web guy (Bill Gates) is now hard at work trying to sort it.

But anyway the story so far:
The never ending Winter weather and continual cold rain has affected the fishing in quite a big way this year certainly making it a slow start. This seems to be the general consensus throughout Northern France and England so far this year.
But as the weeks have gone by the numbers have improved and the trademark Teillatts lumps have started to show, The General's Mate waited until the 8th week to put in an appearance at 72.2!,the lucky carper was all round Nice Guy Steve Barwick from Bradford
The Nogent Mirror has been out a couple of times already at 68lb,the last captor was Kevin Ratcliffe from Sidcup. The Digital Common has also been out a couple of times first to bank it was 'Pickle' from Orpington, Kent.
Jon and I had a week in April and it was a stark contrast from the previous April (Carribean carping )with persistant rain and cold winds it was like fishing during the battle of the Somme, but we managed to get amongst the fish, Jon was top rod with 17 fish to 52lb including 4 40's to 48lb and i had a top result with the capture of the Digital Common at 67.8lb my new P.B. what a fish, we think this fish will definitely break the magical 70lb barrier this year.
We had a special guest on our week Carp Superstar Simon Crow who done a nice little write up but still couldn't resist having a little dig about us pulling strokes and being from Essex, well as anyone who know's us will tell you, we don't pull strokes we are from South East London and you have to catch the fish they don't swim into the net, anyway it was all in good humour he's not a bad Geordie lad.
At present the fish have spawned and the fishing has kicked off with fish coming out all over the lake.
I think we're going to have a good summer and good back end of the season the way things are shaping up.(have a look at the summer special week 26th July Get 10kg cc specials)
We will endeavor to keep you informed as to what's happening and get the pictures loaded on the site as soon as possible.
